WHERAS an emergency board meeting was convened as there was a need for a search and screen to fill the Finance and Development position.
WHEREAS it was considered timely to establish a search and screen
WHEREAS the board took nominations from all member campuses and held an election
contingent on the approval of the General Assembly

WHEREAS, to invest in renewable energy and initiate sustainable projects on campuses, it is necessary to have general guidelines and criteria outlining the logistics of these projects, and
WHEREAS, there’s recent trends in sustainable legislation and guidelines, and a push to support or pass them quickly, as environmental quality is always time sensitive, and a priority to the well-being of students, via educational and natural world surroundings, and
GA 1007-01 Setting the Date for Women's Leadership Conference 2008
WHEREAS, United Council puts on an annual Women's Leadership Conference every November,
WHEREAS, Women's Leadership Conference requires extensive planning and time commitment,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Women's Leadership Conference for 2008 will be held November 14-16, 2008.

WHEREAS, United Council has already taken a stance supporting Compassionate Care for Rape Victims,
WHEREAS, Speaker of the Assembly, Mike Huebsch, has added an amendment to
CCRV that is detrimental to the spirit of the bill,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, United Council supports CCRV in its original form,
THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, United Council President, Jeff Allen, shall
write a letter to Speaker Huebsch and other appropriate members of the assembly in
EV 0607-01: Food and Beverage Changes within the UW System Resolution
WHEREAS, the current food and beverage options at most UW-system campuses are not meeting the social, environmental, and health expectations for all of the students.
WHEREAS, options that are locally grown, organic and fair trade certified, and contain natral
and whole foods do meet the social, environmental, and health expectations that are otherwise
missing.
