Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs Committee is charged with: assisting and coordinating members in initiating academic reform on their campuses; studying and making recommendations on the academic direction of the University of Wisconsin System; making recommendations as to this organization's position on academic matters; and receiving reports from the Academic Affairs office of UW System Administration.
Environmental and Sustainability Issues Committee

The Environmental and Sustainability Issues Committee is charged with: establishing a network among organizations with environmental or similar interests; communicating, researching and investigating issues of interest to sustainability and protecting the environment; establishing programming for students interested in the environment; and monitoring governmental and UW System activity with regard to sustainability and the environment.
Executive Committee

The Executive Affairs Committee of United Council is charged with: Acting as a liaison between the varied standing committees of the organization, strategically advising and implementing United Council campaigns, organizing United Council calendars, reviewing the budget of United Council before forwarding to the board, increasing internal recruitment of United Council members, and developing strategies for the recruitment of nonmember campuses to United Council.

The Women’s Issues Committee is charged with: establishing a network among organizations with women’s or similar interests; communicating, researching and investigating issues of interest to women students, and their rights; establishing programming for women students; and monitoring governmental and UW System activity with regard to women.
Legislative Affairs Committee

The Legislative Affairs Committee is charged with: receiving reports on the activites of state and federal government and making recommendations based on those activities; studying and making recommendations based on those activities; studying and making recommendations on adoption of a legislative program; assisting members in pursuing legislative goals of particular interest; and developing and recommending programs to stimulate interest in appropriate legislative activity among students.
